Let Me Sit Downขอนั่งก่อน
Written by NATTHA / Natthapon Khemmueang
Leave the ceiling out of the picture for a moment. At sofa height, a different set of details comes into view, including the edge of the low table, the cushions, the rug, and the shelves behind the seat.

In the NONG CHOM perspectives, the tall hall draws the eye upwards. The adjacent sitting area brings it back down. I find this change more useful to think about than the height of either room on its own. It gives the house somewhere to be less formal without making the larger room disappear.
There is nothing wrong with enjoying a grand room. I would simply like the design to remember the person who has finished admiring it. Where will that person put a glass, set something down, or turn to face someone else? Those are questions to work through at a much closer distance.

The diagonal view from the sitting area is worth keeping. It lets the sofa and the hall appear in the same image. This time, the low table is closer than the chandelier.
