The Tree Between One View and Anotherต้นไม้ที่อยู่ระหว่างการมองเห็น
Written by NATTHA / Natthapon Khemmueang
Seeing through leaves is different from seeing directly
There is a small difference between seeing the other house immediately and seeing it through leaves first.

Landscape can become a form of distance
In the BANG BUA THONG visualisations, trees and planting occupy the foreground while glass, water and another building sit beyond. The eye does not travel in one direct line from one window to another. It passes through something with depth, irregularity and the potential to change over time.
A tree gains architectural meaning through position
I am interested in landscape here as a form of distance rather than decoration. If greenery merely filled the gaps between buildings, it could sit almost anywhere. But when it becomes part of the view from one residence towards another, the position of a tree begins to have architectural meaning.
The other home does not need to disappear
The planting does not make the other house disappear. We can still register another building, another household and the shared spaces beyond. The relationship simply does not need to remain direct and exposed all the time.
A visualisation cannot prove privacy or comfort
I would not use a visualisation to claim how much privacy or environmental comfort the trees will create once built. What the image does show is a decision not to leave the space between homes as an empty corridor for the eye.

Closeness does not always need a wall
Closeness does not always need a wall to create a boundary.
A tree can give seeing a rhythm
Sometimes a tree does not block the view. It gives the act of seeing one another a rhythm.
