What are we designing when we design a waiting room?
A waiting room can be reduced to a simple number how many people can sit.
Waiting Room
The moment someone actually occupies a chair, the number is no longer enough. There is a bag. There is another person sitting nearby. There is a view towards the window, a route that someone else has to walk through, perhaps a small table that either helps or gets in the way.
In the SUKHUMVIT 105 visualisations, the waiting area uses more than one kind of seat and keeps part of the group close to the glazing. I do not read that as a promise that everyone will feel comfortable. A rendering cannot prove that. I read it as a design question can the interval of waiting be given choices rather than only capacity?

A room for waiting is still a room in which life is happening, even if the main reason someone came has not started yet.
